Role Overview

Following a period of sustained growth, we are looking for an experienced, analytical and client focused sales executive to take responsibility for driving sales for both our conferences and events programme (digital & in-person) and for our media brand advertising partnerships.

This role is focused on scaling up outbound and inbound media and event sales activity for Tamarindo Group, with supporting internal managerial responsibilities, as appropriate.

The right candidate is expected to drive a significant proportion of annual sales revenue from;

  • Our conference series; Financing Wind North America & Financing Wind Europe
  • Our awards programme; Wind Investment Awards
  • Our webinar programme; The Watt Seat
  • Advertising sales for our media brands; A Word About Wind & Energy Storage Report

The right candidate will be an ambitious self-starter, with proven sales and business development experience. The right candidate will be looking to join a fast growing media, marketing & events business and gain a valuable insight into the changing dynamics that exist within the global renewable energy markets.

The Senior Sales Executive role is best suited to a degree-educated individual with at least three years’ of sales and key account management experience, strong CRM analytics experience (Hubspot certified) and exceptional attention to detail. The candidate will have a proven track record for hitting and exceeding agreed sales targets.

Handling a wide variety of work, in accordance with our three year strategic plan, you will be responsible for growing and retaining our community of sponsors and commercial partners, assisting with the operations of the department and delivering against the wider, long-term commercial vision and plan.

Having the aptitude to think on your feet is a must and the ability to work independently and as part of a much wider team is particularly encouraged.

Through a combination of on-the-job training, mentoring, and formal instruction, the right candidate will continue to develop their core commercial, sales and marketing skills in order to understand and implement best practice protocols.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

1) Take responsibility for sales & business development, working together with the sales and marketing team to:

    • Deliver sales forecasts and maintain the current trajectory of financial growth, working to agreed quarterly targets in accordance with the plan
    • Develop and build out core sales processes and systems, to enable and promote scalability of the conference and delegate base through best practice
    • Support in developing and building out the sales and business development team, globally, to include establishing a robust recruitment, training and retention programme for new sales personnel and future recruits
    • Immerse yourself in the global clean energy market and key sub-sectors, to enable good familiarity with our growing community interests, aims and goals
    • Attend key industry events alongside other members of the senior team, as appropriate, to build new relationships and find new sales opportunities

    2) Establish a strong rapport with the team, to rapidly scale-up recurring/re-booking sponsorship & delegate event revenue:

    • Supporting the Client Services Delivery team in encouraging and facilitating strong, effective, regular cutomer engagement
    • Through supporting the development of a proactive membership feedback programme, to ensure we capture potential membership needs and demands
    • Establishing a strong working relationship with the sales, marketing, event delivery and operations teams to accelerate membership & sponsorship engagement
    • Championing, and being seen by the sales team to champion, a regular focus on outbound calls and emails, to maintain sales retention and growth

    Key Skills & Attributes

    The right candidate will have a strong record of performance in media and sponsorship event sales, meeting/exceeding targets and growing accounts year on year. They will also -

    • Have at least three years B2B account management experience
    • Have strong written and verbal communication
    • Have a proven ability to manage projects to deadline
    • Have a proven ability to manage a team
    • Be knowledgeable of marketing and brand communication techniques
    • Have experience using Hubspot and a strong digital competency
    • Be confident in building and developing strong senior client relationships
    • Offer strong account management, project management and organisation skills
    • Have a good knowledge of marketing, management, budgeting, and planning
    • Have flexibility and a willingness for international travel
    • Offer up excellent negotiating skills, confidence, and discretion
    • Have an interest in renewable energy, maritime, and financial services markets

    Our office hours are 9.00 – 5.30, Monday to Friday

    Working outside of office hours is sometimes required but it is not encouraged.


    Central Oxford, UK HQ but remote working is actively encouraged and adopted.

    Having the ability and flexibility to travel overseas for business is essential.
