Role Overview

The role of Senior Research Analyst is best suited to a degree-educated individual who is a proven self-starter with a background in research, analysis and project management.

This is a newly created role, formed following a successful three-month, externally-led, customer research campaign to grow our membership programme. For the right candidate, with the right approach, it offers exceptional potential for career progression and growth in a fast growing, entrepreneurial business.

The role will contribute to the success of new and existing research and content initiatives, delivered across the breadth of Tamarindo’s membership programme. The membership programme currently includes our power list research initiative and the successful candidate will review and strengthen that existing process and explore further opportunities for growth. These opportunities may, subject to customer needs, include the development of specialist interest working groups, deeper thought leadership and/or the introduction of a future impact and innovation programme, too. These avenues offer real potential to evolve and strengthen the membership - it’s the job of our Senior Research Analyst to deliver this.

Through participation in, and leadership of, the research process, you will enable our customers to understand and benchmark themselves against industry best practice, to enable members to network, meet and learn from and with industry peers and to enable our community to make future commercial decisions, based on our enhanced research and insight programme.

Demonstrating strong analytical skills and capable of communicating complex ideas effectively to a diverse audience, as our Senior Research Analyst, you will fulfill a variety of functions! As such, you must be capable of both independent work and of working closely with the membership and consulting divisions within our business. Intellectual curiosity, thought leadership, an analytical bent, and an unending willingness to solicit, receive and incorporate ideas and feedback are the hallmarks of success.

Advanced skills in both written and verbal communications are prerequisites. As our inaugural Senior Research Analyst, you must be able to understand and write/present for a range of audiences. Active listening, strong project management capabilities, and a team orientation are also required. Above all, this is a role for an experienced individual looking to work with a close knit, ambitious team who are passionate about the power and potential of global renewables and clean technology.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Schedule, conduct, and write up research interviews with executives, academics, and industry experts in search of best practices
  • Build strong relationship and becoming a “trusted advisor” to our members by;
    • Conducting and documenting findings of primary and secondary research in support of research agenda and member needs;
    • Bringing together complex information to elicit key patterns & insight;
    • Communicating complex ideas in simple, understandable language (written and spoken)
  • Position Tamarindo’s research and content effectively, such that it resonates with disparate audiences and critical membership needs
  • Use analytical tools such as root cause analysis to identify the drivers of members' business problems, create hypotheses regarding solutions, and test differences between conventional and progressive practice
  • Respond to inbound requests by member organisations by helping them to understand how and why they need to benchmark their work against others
  • Present key findings to a range of customers and stakeholders in person, in writing, and through digital means
  • Draft and manage edits on research presentations and other key deliverables
  • Support sales and membership account management services through content training and, where appropriate, direct support
  • Develop, refine and review our power list research outreach programme for consistency, accuracy, and relevance
  • Maintain close, productive relationships across Tamarindo’s consulting, content, event and membership teams, serving as a “connecting point” for critical information flow

  • Experience of working in the live event/content environment
  • Proven ability to manage copy/content projects to deadline
  • Excellent attention to detail and a confident and likeable manner
  • Ability to develop strong commercial & editorial relationships
  • Good negotiating skills, confidence, and discretion
  • Interest in renewable, cleantech, maritime, & financial services preferable

Company Culture

Our office hours are 9.00 – 5.30. Working outside of office hours is sometimes required but it is not encouraged. We are headquartered in Oxford, UK though we have always maintained a healthy balance between remote and office work and we prioritise the person and their working preferences, over their location.

You don't need to have an in-depth knowledge of the wind industry, energy storage, renewables or finance. However, you must have an appetite and gumption to get your head into the industry and learn fast – attitude and aptitude are key.
